Miranda Cosstick Veterinary Physiotherapy

The process

Physiotherapy sessions start with clinical history; this includes any information about the animal - the more the better!

Then the assessment: a look at your animal whilst stood, moving and also hands-on. At the hands-on stage, palpation and range of motion assessments will be undertaken.

Treatment: See below.

Homework! This is the part where all the difference can be made- any exercises given optimise any treatment given and aim to give your animal the best improvement.

Hello!

I qualified with a Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy from Writtle University College and have gone on to be a fully insured Veterinary Physiotherapist registered with IRVAP and RAMP.

My practice ethos is to treat with compassion and empathy for every animal, listening astutely to what they’re communicating to uphold their welfare and improve comfort and performance. Linking mind, body, posture, and movement with behavioral indicators ensures that, along with clinical reasoning, the most complete treatment can be conducted. Less is so often more with our animals, rehabilitation through movement is a key factor and something I value highly in practice.

In my spare time (what’s that?!) I can usually be found at the yard or with my dog Bella. I am also on the Institute of Canine Hydrotherapy Board advocating for the highest standards in canine hydrotherapy and veterinary rehabilitation as an industry!

That being said - I've always loved animals! They are my passion and I absolutely adore them with every inch of my skin!

So, to kick things off...

I'd like to mention that all enquires include a FREE meet and greet before anything is booked.

This is so that we both can have a better understanding of the needs of the animal / services provided

*pic of my dogs because let's face it, all dog owners only know dog names/ faces - not the owner or the owner's name's*

*I do not bring my dogs with me unless requested*

Reiki is a very gentle therapy that is incredibly relaxing for the patient. The benefits include but are not limited to - Pain relief, boosting the body’s own healing system, clears energy blockages that can cause illness, reduces stress and cleanses that body of toxins.
Treatments available – Weekend daytime, occasional evenings and school holidays.

My name is Helen Sharman, I started on my Reik journey back in 2004 when I lived in West Sussex. I became unwell with chronic fatigue syndrome and had to give up work and my life seemed to go on hold for 18/24mths.
I went to have a Reiki treatment close to where I lived and I feel in love with this beautiful and gentle healing treatment. I proceeded to have further treatments and definitely felt the benefit.
It was then I decided I would like to learn how to be a Practitioner so I could help others and spread the love! I completed my level 1 & 2 within 6 months and loved treating friends, family and pets!.
I moved to Whitstable and it was there that I continued on my learning journey by completing an Indian Head Massage Diploma and then my Reiki level 3 Master level in 2017.
I have always loved animals and felt a deep connection with them, this has recently lead to me to follow this passion and strong desire to help heal them and expand my learning journey to focus more on this area.
In April 2023 I completed a Canine Holistic Health Diploma and gained a Distinction. I am currently completing a Flower Remedy Diploma to further expand on the knowledge I gained on this subject as a part of the Canine Health Diploma.

A recent review on my Facebook page 😊 –

Helen, thank you so much for helping my 4 year old Cockapoo, Poppy.

After some life upset, Poppy was very anxious and struggling to enjoy things she once did. Helen did a reiki session with Poppy and what a difference it’s made! Not only did Poppy think she was at a spa retreat , it’s certainly helped her to feel more settled and grounded. Thank you so much!

A recent mention on my facebook page 😊

“Helen recently came to give a Reiki healing treatment to our horse Tatty due to a few issues she was struggling with. Tatty was really nervous when she first came from Ireland which was also affecting how much and how often my daughter could ride her. Tatty was very relaxed during the Reiki treatment and we have seen huge improvements in her since! Helen also made Tatty a personalised Flower remedy based on these issues and this again has created even more of a change for the better in Tatty! Tatty is now very calm and relaxed and my daughter is now riding her regularly and even started jumping her for the first time and they are loving their journey together.

Would highly recommend!

Welcome to the Rose & Crown

We are small country pub and restaurant based in the Kent village of Hartlip and pride ourselves on being welcoming to all customers old and new.

Unusually, for pubs these days, we have two separate bars for you to spend time with us. The Public Bar which is dog friendly and has an open fire and The Lounge Bar which is adjacent to the restaurant. Our garden is open all year with a large enclosed covered area known fondly as "The Lockdown Shed" this also has heating and plenty of comfy seating.

Generally, we have up to four real ales on at any one time all from Kent based breweries, a large modern selection of wines from across the UK, Europe and beyond as well as an extensive range of Ciders, Lagers, Craft IPA's & Spirits.

Our Restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday with a varied and extensive menu including Sunday roasts and an ever-changing specials board. As we only have a small number of covers its always advisable to phone ahead to check availability.

Hartlip & the surrounding area has plenty of walks and trails if you want to spend time enjoying the countryside and local orchards.

Both Adrian & I, as well as the whole team, look forward to your visit in the near future.
